Axa XL, with more than 100 offices on 6 continents, have requested that their caterers, CH & Co, switch from compostable to reusable containers digitised by the VenueNow technology. This is an important step in their commitment to Net Zero by 2050 as they intensify their ESG efforts. Whilst this may slightly increase the cost of food production, it is vital that less waste is created be reusing existing infrastructure, especially in Central London. Apart from lowering waste disposal it also reduces the number of deliveries of single use containers which add to the already overwhelming problem in this busy region of the UK.
The VenueNow software ensures that reusables are as convenient as disposables employing a frictionless technology to track containers for users to comply with the reusable system. It gives these Eco Warriors the tools to monitor their carbon footprint as well as the tools to correct errant behaviour.
Andy Clark, Head of Catering at Axa XL in London, said “this is critical to our vision for sustainability in the workplace. Public food and container waste, especially in London, needs to be replaced with a more sustainable model. The VenueNow technology facilitates a frictionless move from single use disposables to reusable catering equipment”.
Michael Ward, CMO of VenueNow, said “we are pleased to be working with a global brand such as Axa XL who share our vision for sustainability. Their ESG department have been instrumental in driving these changes to ensure our planet is protected against human waste. With clients like these we are pleased to be doing our duty to achieve a sustainable environment.”
